Metabolism Boosting Morning Elixir

The perfect way to start your morning. This elixir not only stimulates the metabolism but helps support weight loss, heals the digestive system improving the absorption of nutrients + aids in detoxification.

Prep 5 minutes| | Serves 1+ people

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 tsp of Meadow and Marrow Natural Bone Broth
  • 3 slices of ginger
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • ½ tsp of grated turmeric
  • 3 stalks of parsley
  • ¼ of a lemon

METHOD:

  1. Boil the kettle
  2. Add 1x tsp of Meadow & Marrow Natural Bone Broth to cup or mug
  3. Finely cut ginger, chilli and parsley- add to mug
  4. Grate turmeric and slice lemon- add to mug
  5. Add 1x tbsp. of apple cider vinegar
  6. Fill with boiling water and stir
  7. Enjoy!

BENEFITS:

Meadow and Marrow Bone Broth: Bone broth is an excellent source of collagen (the protein found in vertebrate animals) and gelatine which is beneficial for restoring intestinal mucosa lining, promoting the growth of probiotics, and supporting healthy immune system function. Bone broth is rich in protein, amino acids and other minerals including glycine which support the body’s detoxification process.

Ginger: contains ‘bitter’ properties stimulating and improving digestion by increasing bile flow (decreasing bloating and speeding up the metabolism). Ginger also boosts the immune system, is effective in ‘warming’ the body and helps to break down accumulative toxins and cleanse the lymphatic system.

Apple Cider Vinegar: contains a wealth of raw enzymes and beneficial bacteria that help to stimulate the digestive juices and assist the absorption of nutrients. ACV assists in breaking down the fats and protein found in bone broth, therefore maximising the benefits!

Lemon: stimulates the production of bile, enhancing digestion and improving the absorption of nutrients. It also aids in detoxification and is high in antioxidants like vitamin C, which help protect cells from oxidative damage.

Chili: helps to improve digestion and promote a complete bowel motion. Chilies contain thermogenic compounds which increase the metabolic rate which aids in the fat burning process.

Parsley: is high in antioxidants and acts as a diuretic helping to relieve water retention and ease bloating. It also reduces gas, constipation, indigestion and nausea.

Turmeric is a powerful anti-inflammatory that is high in antioxidant properties. Curcumin (the active constituent within turmeric) stimulates the gallbladder to produce bile helping to digest fat; this improves digestion and helps to control weight.
